In our kitted-out mobile or onsite workshop, our youth mentors will teach you not just how to assemble and customise your bike but also important skills like working as a team, leading, setting goals, and managing yourself.

This program isn't just about the mechanics—it's about coming together, achieving something great, and getting ready for bigger challenges in life.  The program will be full of opportunities to discover your strengths while developing practical, teamwork and leadership skills essential for learning and life.

At the end, celebrate your hard work with a special lunch and take home the bike you built, along with a certificate to show what you've accomplished. If you're ready to learn, create, and grow, TOP GEAR is for you.

PUSH! First Gear

An introduction to basic bike maintenance and road safety while building belonging and confidence.

First Gear is a practical, one-session introductory program focused on bike maintenance and road safety that will give young people a taste of personal and social development.

On the day, youth mentors will offer support and guidance, facilitating discussions and activities that aim to build basic life skills like teamwork and problem-solving. This aspect of the program is about starting to build the participants' confidence and helping them see the value of community and personal growth.

We understand that one day is just the beginning, so while First Gear introduces bike maintenance and safety, it also lays the groundwork for further development. It's an entry point into our broader range of programs or those offered by schools, aimed at deepening these skills and exploring new ones.

First Gear sets the stage for ongoing growth and learning.
