In this evidence-based program you will learn how to effectively talk—and listen—to your teenagers, understand their needs and help them manage their behaviours and emotions. Over 6-weeks you will develop skills to support your teens to build their emotional intelligence, deal with difficult situations and face their future with greater resilience and success. Complete this program online or in-person.

Connect with other parents in Moreton Bay at our young parent's playgroup, Dads and kids playgroup or local coffee and chat. Or join one of our online or in-person parenting courses to strengthen your parenting skills, confidence and capabilities.

Active Explorers Playgroup

For children aged 0 to 5 years and their caregivers.

Stories, movement, music, ball games, exercise and adventure for children and their caregivers. Join your kids as they grow and develop physical and social skills in a fun environment. 

Active Explorers is held every Wednesday from 10 am to 11:30 am during the school term at the Deception Bay Soccer Club (across from Deception Bay North State School).

For Dads and their Children

Connect with other Dads, join the conversation and provide an opportunity for your kids to socialise. 

Dad and kids playgroup is held on Fridays at Skye Blue Park from 3pm onwards (during the school term).

Circle of Security Parenting

Join parents just like you in this 6-week online and in-person program to support you on your journey to becoming a confident, wise and kind parent. 

Circle of Security Parenting will help you learn how to: 

  • Strengthen your relationship with your child
  • Be present for the triumphs and challenges
  • Recognise your child's needs and understand their behaviour
  • Meet your child’s needs by being bigger, stronger, wiser and kind.

Kidz Zone

A safe, education-focused online portal for kids to learn and explore what it means to feel safe and be safe. Kids join Ziggy and friends in this interactive online learning journey.

Learning Together

Learning so you can be your kids best teacher!

Learning Together is a community based literacy program that supports parents to develop their own reading skills, so they can promote reading and learning together with their children.

Learning Together also tackles skills in other key literacies, including finance, health, digital and numeracy.

Learning Together runs over 8 weeks, and is held during school hours at DBay North and Moreton Downs State Schools.

The program uses fun scenarios such as cooking, craft and scrapbooking as backdrops to teach these valuable skills

The GROW TOGETHER peer support group is specially designed for children aged 8-12 years. The program focuses on enhancing peer relationships and understanding emotions, all while having fun and making friends. Join us at the GROW TOGETHER peer support group and get ready to thrive

CREATE & GROW Peer Support Group

The CREATE & GROW peer support group provides creative opportunities for children aged 8-12 years to work on fun and artistic projects to take home. During the session, children can engage in activities that help to build self-esteem, increase social skills, and discover more about themselves. Delivered over 5 session, children can enjoy a pressure-free space to safely explore thoughts and feelings.

  • Time: 3:30pm - 4:30pm

Free G

Free healthy activity for primary aged kids!

Kids aged 5-12 are invited to attend our 'Free G' Workshops over two weekends at the Deception Bay PCYC. A thrilling combination of gymnastics, parkour, obstacle training and freestyle movement, these workshops will get your adrenaline pumping while having heaps of fun. We are offering two age groups (5-7) & (8-12) so kids can make new friends and learn with their peers.

  • Dates: Saturdays 16th & 23rd march 2024.

Messy Sensory Play

Sensory playgroup for children 0 - 5 and their parents/carers

Embrace the mess, ignite the senses! This playgroup is designed to support children of all abilities in a gentle environment, where they can explore messy play and make friends.

Messy Sensory Play runs every thursday during the school term from 9:30am - 10:30am at Skye Blue Park, Bailey Rd, Deception Bay.
